SHO TIME Day 3!

Well, SHO TIME 2014 is officially over. Although that’s a sad fact to face, the third and final day was a great way to end the wonderful orientation. To begin the day, we met our group downtown for breakfast at Irving’s. This allowed them to see some of the popular spots downtown and enjoy one of the famously delicious bagels. We then ventured up to Forum, pointing out important spots along the way. At Forum, the Distinguished Faculty Lecture with Dr. Alley took place. It was extremely interesting and thought-provoking, and I know my group enjoyed it just as much as I did. Lunch at Pollock followed, and after came the book discussions. Since I was not a book facilitator, I did not stay for the discussions, but I think my group enjoyed having a scholarly conversation about the readings. Town and Gown followed, and my group thought it was interesting to be able to meet some big State College names. SASH provided them with the opportunity to become more familiar with each other and with their honors dorms.

We all met up again for one last dinner at Pollock before heading out to the Nittany Lion Inn for Late Night With the Dean. Late Night, which featured more games this year than in years past,  gave the new scholars an opportunity to hear from student leaders, coaches, and President Barron. To end the night, we all went to Simmons courtyard for cupcakes at the Final Bow. All in all, Day 3 was educational, fun, and a perfect ending to SHO TIME 2014.
